Sarah, Volleyball Player

As someone who struggles with her mental health, being active is something I can rely on to make me feel good.
— Sarah, 18

I was lucky to meet Sarah in 2020 when she, alongside teammate and sister Natalie, were featured in collaboration with Canadian Women & Sport and Galaxy Volleyball.

From the courts to the gym, she's built her life around the twin pillars of physical and mental well-being.

From her early days playing volleyball in Grade 5 to more competitive pursuits, Sarah moves for mental health and to bond with her teammates including her sister Natalie.

Injuries have been roadblocks, but they've only made her stronger. She's learned to respect her body's limits and bounce back with resilience and determination. As part of her recovery, she has discovered the joys of training at the gym for strength, cardio, and flexibility.

Surrounded by a supportive circle of friends and family (especially her sister Natalie), Sarah finds motivation and inspiration to keep pushing.
