Craig, Hamish, walking buddies
Craig picked up his 7-week-old puppy from a breeder on a farm in November, 2015. The 13-pound puppy, dubbed Hamish, inspired Craig to stay active. I’ve seen Craig walking Hamish in every kind of weather. Cold, rain, ice, nothing can keep these two from getting outside. Of course, Hamish is a lot of dog to handle, especially when he sets his mind to chasing squirrels.
“Hamish inspires me to move. I will walk him in the middle of the night if he has a need to go out. He always seems to appreciate the extra effort.”
"As a result of walking Hamish, I have met many new people in the neighbourhood," Craig says. "They have become acquaintances that I meet frequently while I’m walking with Hamish, and some have become friends that I speak with regularly."
"My four-legged friend keeps me moving physically so I do my best to keep him happy and comfortable. He and I seem to understand each other's roles in the walk, and he doesn’t like bike riding or golf. Apparently, he doesn’t fit into the bike basket and I’m not comfortable with him driving the golf cart!"
